It’s been a fantastic summer across our nurseries at Rosedene, our team have made so many brilliant memories with the children. From graduations to exciting trips and our weekly themed holiday club. It’s time to share some of the highlights with you.
We kickstarted July with some wonderful graduation ceremonies across our nurseries, celebrating our pre-schoolers who ended their nursery journey with us and started a new exciting adventure at their schools. We welcomed so many parents, grandparents, siblings and even the Major of Stockton-On-Tees and Mayor of Middlesbrough joined our Hardwick and Hemlington ceremonies.
Of course, it wouldn’t be the British Summer without the rain joining the party, but that didn’t stop our families and children from having fun. From singing songs to playful photo booths, it was a proud day for so many parents and our nursery team, with each child taking home their own graduation portrait.
We wish all of our children from our Class of 2023 the best of luck in the future, and look forward to seeing many of them again through our holiday clubs and all their younger siblings that are still part of our nurseries.
In addition to graduations, we had the amazing opportunity visit the Great North Air Ambulance as part of our Community Week. It was an incredible experience, and our little ones were so excited to get up close and personal with the helicopter. They even got to meet some of the crew and learn about all the amazing work they do, as well as a photo opportunity with mascot Miles the Pilot!
We also held ‘Wear Green Day’ across all our nurseries to fundraise for GNAAS, we’re so proud of the children for raising £250 and they were very excited to present the large cheque to the team!
Our weekly themed holiday club was a huge success. We had a different theme each week, from eco week to performing arts, and our children had so much fun engaging in all the provocations and events the team put on. It was a great chance for them to make new friends and learn new skills, all while having a ton of fun.
One of our biggest celebrations this summer was our 20th birthday party for Rosedene Guisborough, hosting a Carnival themed event we invited parents, children, long serving staff members and our founders John and Clare along for an afternoon of hook-a-duck, coconut shy, facepaints, hot dogs and our own icecream van! We'll be sharing more on the 20 year journey of Guisborough along with our '20 Acts Of Kindness' project we'll be doing this Autumn Term in another blog very soon!
Now for some highlights from across our nurseries!
At Rosedene Easterside, we visited our allotment and harvested a feast of vegetables, herbs and fruits. The children loved exploring the plot for what was ready to be picked and learning which foods were ripe and which needed more time. It was then off to the garden to clean, prepare and cook a vegetable soup!
What better way to celebrate National Beach Day than a trip to the beach! Rosedene Saltburn and Guisborough took a stroll along the shore as part of a special beach school session, they searched for crabs and starfish, explored the different textures of seaweed and created some excellent designs using shells, stones and pebbles that they collected.
At Northallerton we celebrated Blossoms Fest! After one of our pre-school children shared that she had attended a festival with her family recently, the team put together a festival just for our Blossoms children! With glitter face and hair paints they enjoyed dancing, playing in the camping tents and their own Access All Areas festival passes.
With the Autumn Term now here, we’re so excited to share what we get up in the coming months, especially with the return of our Forest and Beach School programmes. Welcoming back children from the summer break, as well as new families who are ready to make life long memories at Rosedene.
