What We Got Up To In June!

June the UK’s hottest month on record ☀️ and so were all the amazing activities across Rosedene!

We kickstarted the month (quite literally!) with a family fun day of football and activities with the Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation. Rosedene children & parents got the opportunity to meet and score penalties against the Boro’s mascot, Roary the lion!

At our Stockton nurseries, our father figures were invited to a special Fathers Day Event, to join in with outdoor forest school activities, building fires, roasting marshmallows and archery!

World Music Day took our Guisborough nursery by storm! Both our children and our staff dressed-up, delivered performances from Elton John to Freddie Mercury, and the children loved playing with the musical instruments and learning all about the different genres of music.

Over at our Easterside setting in Middlesbrough, we’ve been working hard at our allotment! The children have been taking part in making the site fully functional: planting herbs and vegetables, watching them grow, and then using the ingredients for delicious snacks and lunches!

At our Ormesby setting we explored the wonders of foam! From building foam castles to creating foam hats and beards, the children loved using a different style of messy play and letting their imaginations take over.

International Mud Day was enjoyed across all our nurseries, so much fun was had by mud painting, and they were cooking up a storm in the mud kitchens where mud pies and cupcakes were the dish of the day! We also talked about the importance of sanitation and the children learned about the conditions of different communities around the world.

We can't wait to see what the rest of the summer holds for these bright, curious children.
